BROOKFIELD INSTITUTE
Gow Hastings Architects was appointed the task of providing two distinct spaces for use by multiple Ryerson University groups, including the Brookfield Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Centre for Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Spaces of collaboration and incubation are important for research oriented institutes like Ryerson University. The renovation provides an innovation hub that supports student entrepreneurs and inventors in the early stages of their projects.
The open space planning supports Ryerson's new pedagogy model of experiential Zone Learning, which prepares students for the 21st century workplace through tangible experience on real world projects.
Artigo's contribution to the project came in the form of Artigo's exclusive Kayar flooring, designed by Sottsass Associati, in the not-so-often-seen pink shade K70, paired with the neutral dark grey K103. In a space designed to facilitate the flow of knowledge and discussions. Kaya'ss organic feel fit well in the architecture and structure of the offices
